This week, as I embarked on a scenic adventure through Scotland, England, and Wales, I was reminded once again of the transformative power of travel. Boarding trains winding through lush green hills, each curve revealing a new panorama of fluffy white sheep dotting the landscape, and distant blue oceans beckoning with their endless horizon. Road tripping through the rugged beauty of Wales, where ancient brown castles stand as silent witnesses to centuries of history and legend. In the midst of this kaleidoscope of colors and stories, I found solace and renewal. The crisp, fresh air filling my lungs with each inhale, clearing away the cobwebs of daily life. The rich tapestry of history woven into every stone, sparking my curiosity and igniting my imagination. Perhaps most importantly, this journey was a sanctuary for my soul, a respite from the chaos of the world. It was a chance to reset my nervous system, to find balance in the midst of uncertainty. It was an opportunity to cultivate wellbeing, to nourish my body, mind, and spirit. As a podcaster, leadership development strategist, survivor advocate, world traveler, polyglot, and expat, I've learned that travel is not just a luxury—it's a necessity. In the middle of my 1:1 virtual call with my boss this morning @jasonadamsbrown walked in with a dozen red roses and a heart box of chocolates. We went for brunch at one of our favorite brunch places. I lavished my kids with chocolates and Valentine cards for them to wake up to, as I do every Valentine’s Day. My boss sent my kids cupcakes from her favorite NYC bakery again this year. ❤️ I believe in lavishing my loved ones with love, and even though this day is commercialized, I still love to let my family know how much I cherish them on this day. I am also showing myself some love today. In this world, we need more of us to know how beloved we are. If no one tells you today, hear this from me. You are loved. 🫶🏼

Taking a work trip always has an element of excitement and anticipation, but my recent work trip to Cincinnati to conduct a leadership summit with Hyve Solutions was nothing short of inspirational. As a fast-moving tech company, we at Hyve Solutions understand the critical importance of effective leadership and communication in navigating the complexities of the tech industry. Aa a certified professional facilitator with the Center for Creative Leadership, I've had the privilege of working with leaders from various parts of the globe. Each experience is unique, but the core challenge remains the same: fostering an environment where communication thrives. This summit was an opportunity to dive deep into what it means to listen—not just to hear, but to truly understand. It's a skill that demands intentionality and hard work, especially in a sector where the pace never slows and the stakes are always high. Throughout the summit, I led our leaders to explore the nuances of communication, focusing on how to cultivate an environment where team members feel heard and valued. The transformation in participants was palpable. Witnessing managers evolve into leaders who prioritize empathy and understanding over directives was both professionally and personally fulfilling. It's a testament to the power of listening as the foundation of effective leadership. The summit wasn't just about the sessions, though. It was about the connections made and the shared commitment to growth. As leaders, the willingness to learn and adapt is what sets us apart. In Cincinnati, I saw firsthand the impact of investing in these skills. Celebrating today that marks 20 years since Nico was born into this world in Chiang Mai, Thailand. His intelligence and curiosity have led to so many deep conversations over the years. His curiosity has led to 20 years of immense amounts of knowledge acquired, and 20 years of so much delight for me to watch him learn and grow into the man he is today. Seeing him find his passion in studying to become an aerospace engineer is so consistent with the little toddler that explored everything, learned so quickly, and was a little engineer all along. 🚀 His quick wit, sense of humor and laughter have brought so many smiles to my face over 20 years. What a privilege it is to be his mom. I could not be more proud of Nico, and am thrilled we got to celebrate his 20th birthday as a family. We love him so much!
