Patience is a virtue, and can be best learned in waiting. Waiting on visas from the Indonesian government, a peace treaty to be signed, and for alignment to be achieved has taught Lori strength of character and patience in waiting throughout life and a career abroad.

Over 30 Years of Living and Working Abroad

Lori spent 10 years working in relief and development in Indonesia where she was a nonprofit leader who cultivated strategies for IDPs fleeing civil war in Aceh province and led disaster relief efforts in Banda Aceh after the tsunami of 2004. She was a liason with the UN coordination efforts. She speaks Indonesian fluently.

Lori worked in Singapore for 10 years building bridges between groups where diversity of culture, faith and socio-economic status contained barriers to be overcome in the workplace. Lori’s cross-cultural skills and ability to speak 6 languages were key in training and building teams to work together with harmony and depth.
